Bangladesh have retained the same squad that secured a series victory over Sri Lanka for their upcoming three-match T20I series against Pakistan. The matches will be played at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka on July 20, 22, and 24, with all fixtures scheduled as night games.
The announcement comes on the heels of Bangladesh's impressive comeback in Sri Lanka, where they bounced back from a 1-0 deficit to clinch the series 2-1. The final T20I saw Bangladesh dominate with an eight-wicket win in Colombo, showcasing their growing confidence and form under captain Litton Das.
Litton continues to set milestones, becoming the first Bangladesh captain to win two overseas T20I series — following a 3-0 whitewash of the West Indies last December. His leadership, alongside strong performances from the likes of Tanzid Hasan, Towhid Hridoy, and Shamim Hossain, has been a key factor in Bangladesh's recent T20I success.
In the bowling department, offspinner Mahedi Hasan stood out in the final game against Sri Lanka with remarkable figures of 4 for 11. Rishad Hossain and Mustafizur Rahman also impressed, both maintaining economy rates under six runs per over throughout the series.
Despite recent success, Bangladesh will be looking to reverse their poor record against Pakistan in the shortest format. The teams last met in May-June this year, when Pakistan swept the three-match series 3-0 in Lahore. Overall, Pakistan have dominated the T20I head-to-head, winning 19 out of 22 matches.
Pakistan have already arrived in Dhaka ahead of the series, which will be played amid concerns about the pitch conditions due to ongoing monsoon rains in the region.
