Zanden Jeh and Hayden Kerr Earn Queensland Contracts for 2025-26 Season

Left-arm spinner Zanden Jeh and allrounder Hayden Kerr have been handed Queensland state contracts for the 2025-26 domestic season, marking significant developments in both players' careers.

Jeh, 22, received a surprise call-up to the Australia A squad for the recent series against Sri Lanka A in Darwin, despite having never featured at the domestic state level. He made his List A debut in the third one-day match of the series and impressed with four wickets across the two four-day matches. Under Cricket Australia’s current system, Jeh’s appearance for Australia A automatically triggered his elevation to a state contract.

"We are very excited to have Zanden on our list after he narrowly missed out on a contract this season," said Joe Dawes, Queensland Cricket’s General Manager of Elite Cricket. "He no doubt learnt a lot and performed really well in Darwin, and I know the coaches are excited to have him around the group fulltime."

Meanwhile, 29-year-old Hayden Kerr has joined Queensland on a two-year deal after being released from the New South Wales list earlier this year. Kerr, a left-arm seamer and right-handed batter, fills the vacancy left by Ben McDermott, who has opted to return to Tasmania for personal reasons, ending his Queensland stint a year early.

Kerr has played nine first-class matches and 13 List A games, in addition to being a familiar figure in the Big Bash League for the Sydney Sixers. Although he is currently without a BBL contract, Queensland sees value in his experience and versatility.

"With Liam Guthrie relocating to England, Hayden will reinforce our pace bowling depth and add his left-arm variety to the squad," Dawes said. "He's a talented all-round cricketer who has had a few injury setbacks in the past, so we're excited to provide an environment for him to showcase his skill."
