Nat Sciver-Brunt Claims Top Spot in ODI Rankings; Harmanpreet Kaur Jumps Ten Places

England captain Nat Sciver-Brunt has become the No. 1 ranked batter in the ICC Women's ODI rankings, displacing India opener Smriti Mandhana after a stellar performance in the recently concluded three-match ODI series against India.

Sciver-Brunt emerged as the leading run-scorer in the series, amassing 160 runs at an average of 53.33. This marks the first time in 2025 that she has claimed the top position in the ODI batting rankings.

Mandhana, who previously held the top spot, has now slipped to second. Meanwhile, India captain Harmanpreet Kaur has made a significant leap in the rankings, climbing ten places to reach 11th. Kaur finished the series with 126 runs, including a match-winning 102 in the final ODI, which sealed a 2-1 series victory for India. The century was her seventh in ODIs and took her past the 4000-run milestone, making her only the third Indian woman to achieve the feat.

Jemimah Rodrigues also saw an improvement in her ranking, moving up two spots to 13th after scoring 101 runs across the three matches, with a top score of 50 in the final game and 48 in the first.

South Africa captain Laura Wolvaardt remains third in the ODI batting rankings, followed by Australian stars Ellyse Perry and Alyssa Healy, who round out the top five.

Elsewhere, Ireland’s Orla Prendergast made headlines with a strong showing in the 2-0 ODI series win over Zimbabwe. Prendergast climbed 12 places to joint-22nd among ODI batters after an unbeaten 67 in the second ODI. Her all-round performance also saw her rise ten spots to 10th in the allrounders’ rankings and make a notable jump in the bowlers’ list.

On the bowling front, England spinner Sophie Ecclestone retained her position as the top-ranked ODI bowler after picking up five wickets in the series against India. She is followed by Australia’s Ashleigh Gardner, Meghan Schutt, India’s Deepti Sharma, and Australia’s Kim Garth in the top five.
